We’re looking for an experienced, highly organized Centre Director to lead one of our Summer 2026 programs and help create an exceptional experience for students and staff from around the world.
Position: Centre Director | Employment Type: Seasonal / Temporary | Dates: July 2026 | Location: UCLA | Pay: Dependent on experience
Residential Role: Housing and meals provided
About the Role:
The Centre Director is the senior on-site leader responsible for the overall success of the summer program. You’ll oversee daily operations, manage staff teams, ensure student safety, and deliver an outstanding experience for international students.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership experience in youth programs, summer camps, education, travel programs, or hospitality who thrives in fast-paced environments and can confidently manage both people and operations.
You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for students, staff, university partners, vendors, and senior leadership while ensuring the program runs safely, efficiently, and successfully.
Key Responsibilities:Program Leadership & Operations
Oversee all daily operations of the summer center
Ensure smooth execution of academic programs, activities, excursions, arrivals, and departures
Maintain program schedules and operational plans
Troubleshoot day-to-day issues and make quick decisions when needed
Ensure program standards are consistently met across all departments
Staff Leadership & Management
Lead, supervise, and support all on-site staff including:
Activity Leaders
Teachers
Welfare Staff
Management Team Members
Conduct staff meetings and provide daily direction
Manage scheduling and staff coverage
Address performance concerns when necessary
Foster a positive, professional, team-oriented culture
Student Welfare & Safeguarding
Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
Oversee student behavior management and disciplinary issues
Respond to emergencies, incidents, and parent concerns
Ensure safeguarding policies are followed by all staff
Work closely with Welfare leadership on student health, safety, and well-being
Excursions & Student Experience
Oversee all off-site trips and excursions
Ensure transportation logistics run smoothly
Monitor student engagement and overall program quality
Help create a fun, memorable student experience
Administrative Responsibilities
Manage budgets and expense tracking as assigned
Complete incident reports and operational documentation
Communicate regularly with senior leadership
Coordinate with university housing/dining partners
Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous director-level experience in summer camps, youth programs, or study abroad programs
Experience managing teams
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Experience working with children, teens, or young adults
Ability to work flexible hours throughout the program
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with international students
First Aid/CPR certification
Crisis management experience
Experience managing budgets/logistics
Valid driver’s license (helpful but not required)
Schedule:
Program-based schedule
Daytime, evening, and weekend responsibilities required
Residential staff live on-site during program dates
Must be available for staff training prior to student arrival
Must remain on-site throughout assigned program dates
