Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Diagnostic Imaging:
• Interpreting diagnostic images such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine studies.
• Identifying and diagnosing medical conditions based on imaging findings.
• Providing accurate and timely radiology reports to referring physicians.
• Interventional Procedures:
• Performing and interpreting image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drainages, and injections.
• Collaborating with other specialists to plan and execute complex interventional procedures.
• Patient Care:
• Communicating effectively with patients to explain procedures and imaging findings.
• Ensuring patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• Consultation and Collaboration:
• Consulting with referring physicians and healthcare teams to discuss imaging findings and treatment plans.
• Collaborating with radiologic technologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality imaging studies.
• Quality Assurance:
• Maintaining high standards of diagnostic accuracy and image quality.
• Participating in quality assurance programs and peer review processes.
• Education and Research:
• Teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in radiology.
• Conducting or participating in research projects to advance the field of radiology and improve patient care.
• Administrative Duties:
• Managing and overseeing radiology departments or sections within healthcare facilities.
• Adhering to regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Medical Degree: Completion of an accredited medical school (MD or DO).
• Residency Training: Completion of a residency program in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Board Certification: Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent national board.
• Licensure: Valid medical license to practice as a Radiologist.
• Skills: Proficiency in interpreting various imaging modalities, strong analytical and decision-making skills, effective communication, and teamwork.
• Experience: Typically requires several years of post-residency clinical experience.
Working Conditions:
• Environment: Hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, or private practice settings.
• Schedule: Variable hours including on-call shifts for emergency cases.
• Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing or sitting to perform procedures and interpret images
