Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

As Rainbow Lead, you will collaboratively lead the development and delivery of Rainbow safe and responsive systems and pastoral care support across the University. You will foster a culture of inclusion and enable the wellbeing, safety and academic success of Rainbow communities. Working alongside our existing Rainbow Lead and the wider Equity and Inclusion team you will design and deliver systems change initiatives, provide subject matter expertise, deliver training, and manage Rainbow student cases with care and professionalism.

Mōu | Who You Are

You will be an experienced professional with at least 4-5 years' experience working with Rainbow communities, and hold a Bachelor's degree (NZQA Level 7) in Social Work, Counselling, Health, Education, Psychology or a related field. You will also have:

Extensive experience working for or with Rainbow communities, including Rainbow responsive practice, co-designing, advocacy and and community engagement.
Proven ability to provide 1:1 therapeutic services for Rainbow people and manage complex cases and risk
Experience designing and leading training and coaching staff.
Experience designing and delivering community-led systems change initiatives and working within complex systems.
Working knowledge of embedding an intersectionality approach within practice.
Proven experience integrating ethics, confidentiality and boundaries when working with clients.
Proven ability to develop and maintain sector and stakeholder relationships including with Rainbow organisations.
Active commitment to UC values and cultural practices, with te reo Māori competency an advantage.

You will work alongside our existing Rainbow Lead and within the wider Equity and Inclusion team, collaborating with other student support services, faculty departments, and external Rainbow organisations. You'll also engage with Rainbow students and staff across UC to foster a safe, inclusive and equitable environment.
