About this opportunity:
Are you a current undergraduate or student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline who would like to join a software development team responsible for developing and testing 5G virtualized digital unit software? Do you like to focus on designing, modeling, and implementing for Cloud Radio Access Networks? Do you like working with the latest cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Helm? We have an exciting opportunity for you in a fast-paced, highly collaborative technical environment.
As a co-op on our 5G Virtualized Digital Unit/Radio Ctrl&Mgmt team, you will sit between the cloud and our Radios. You will be a key contributor to the Advanced Antenna System (AAS) 5G functions that integrate the next generation of Cloud Native technology. This is an existing role where you get to apply cloud native solutions to a cellular network setup. You will work with a wide group of designers, specialists and researchers across the Cloud RAN development organization in solving sophisticated technical challenges and develop innovative new technologies for our world-leading Cloud Native RAN portfolio.
What you will do:
Work on 3GPP NR and ORAN standards and protocols for advanced 5G features in Management and Control plane area of the software.
Contribute to developing new features as well as the infrastructure and test cases to support automated testing of those features for new 5G software features.
Work in developing/debugging software which support developer’s needs, such as web-based tools, log analysis tools, debug tools, software management tools, etc.
Work on our Cloud Native NR solution for 5G developing features on our microservices in a K8s environment.
Work with open interfaces (e.g gRPC, Protocol Buffers, F1, X2/Xn, A1, 01, LLS…)
The skills you bring:
You are currently a student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline with GPA 3.0 (out of 4) or higher
Good understanding of signal processing, communication theory, SW design methodology, IP Networking is an asset
Knowledge of C/C++, JAVA, Python
Good understanding of the Linux ecosystem
Some knowledge of Cloud-Native core principles, DevOps and Ecosystem a plus - microservices, K8S, Docker, Helm, CI/CD (DevOps)
Excellent English communication skills
Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills and possess a can-do attitude
Good knowledge of communication theory, Netconf protocol, Yang data modeling is an asset
