Join the Local Laws Team as a Ranger, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As a Local Laws Ranger, you will be joining a team of 40+ Rangers focused on...
educating the public on State and Council regulations, sometimes in difficult situations
undertaking investigations and initiating enforcement actions, including issuing fines/seizing animals in sensitive situations
recording customer engagements, interviews and compliance actions
In addition, you'll also:
patrol streets, parks and public areas, proactively engaging with the community
impound vehicles, animals and abandoned goods
update customers on the status of their service requests
provide quality advice, direction, and solutions to the community
Please note: The Local Laws Ranger positions require successful applicants to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days (1 in 3 weekends) as part of the ordinary hours and participate in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service. This will include working every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
About you
To be a success in this role you'll bring:
strong communication skills and resilience in challenging situations
a collaborative mindset with confidence to work independently across our region
proven capability handling admin tasks with tech tools and systems
Experience or qualifications in investigations, enforcement or animal management would be highly regarded.
