Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with deep expertise in the 5G Packet Core domain, including hands-on experience with virtualized (OpenStack) and containerized (Kubernetes) environments. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of key 5G Core Network Functions (NFs) such as AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, AUSF, NRF, NSSF, and UDSF, along with a strong grasp of 3GPP specifications (23.501, 23.502) and Service-Based Interfaces (N1–N40). Proficiency in Layer 2/3 networking protocols, policy and charging mechanisms, and 5GC message flows is essential. The role also demands scripting capabilities in Robot, Shell and Python, and familiarity with test tools like Spirent Landslide and DSTest. Exposure to Capacity testing is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
• ✅ Requirement Analysis
• Study the requirement documents thoroughly.
• Conduct detailed discussions with the engineering and development teams to understand the scope of new features.
• 🧪 Test Case Design
• Prepare extensive test cases covering all functional aspects of the new features.
• ⚙️ Test Environment Setup
• Set up Kubernetes/OpenShift (K8s/OCP)-based clusters for functional and regression testing.
• 🤖 Test Automation
• Automate all test cases using the Robot Framework.
• Schedule regular execution of automated test suites for Sanity and Regression testing.
• 🔄 Environment Maintenance
• Perform regular upgrades on the test setup to align with the latest releases.
• 🛠️ Customer Issue Support
• Support analysis of issues reported from customer environments.
• Incorporate similar scenarios into the functional test suite to ensure coverage.
• 📉 Capacity Testing
• Execute small-capacity model tests within the functional setup to validate performance under constrained conditions.

Job Requirements
• In-depth knowledge of 5G Packet Core domain
• Working experience on an Open stack based Virtualized environment and Kubernetes based containerized environment.
• Working experience on one or more of following 5G Packet Core NFs: AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, AUSF, NRF, NSSF and UDSF
• Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications covering system architecture and procedures for the 5G Core network (3GPP 23.501 and 3GPP 23.502 specs)
• Good understanding of 3GPP specifications covering N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N7, N8, N9, N10, N11, N12, N15, N20 and N40 Service Based Interfaces
• Good understanding of policy and charging in packet core domain
• Good understanding and working knowledge of Networking Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols
• Hands on experience in using test tools including but not limited to Spirent Landslide and DSTest
• Knowledge of message flows and parameters used in the messages for 5GC procedures
• Understanding of latest 5G Release features like NB-IoT, 5G
• Working experience on Shell and Python scripting. Should be able to independently write and debug shell and python scripts
