Job Description

We are looking for a Ready to Work Employment Mentor who is a passionate and dedicated individual ready to make a real difference in people’s lives. In this rewarding role, you will provide intensive case management, mentoring, and support to participants in the Northern Territory Department of Corrections Ready to Work program.


You’ll work closely with individuals with a history of incarceration, helping them identify, prepare for, and secure meaningful employment. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape service delivery in a new region for Workskil Australia, build strong local relationships with employers, community organisations, and Corrections staff, and make a real difference in the lives of participants as they transition successfully from custody, into community and employment.


About the Role

As a Ready to Work Employment Mentor, you’ll be responsible for:

Delivering trauma informed and culturally competent case management, mentoring, and employment support to participants pre- and post-release
Running pre-employment and work readiness programs in Northern Territory prisons
Providing post-release support to improve employability and reduce reoffending
Implementing the Ready to Work model, including job placement and ongoing mentoring
Building relationships with employers, RTOs, Corrections, and community organisations
Promoting the Ready to Work program and achieving performance and contractual KPIs
Supporting a diverse range of participants with empathy, patience, and professionalism
Working with initiative and confidence to establish the program and build partnerships in a new region.

Role Details

Location: Alice Springs, Northern Territory
Employment Type: Full Time, Ongoing
Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm – Monday – Friday

About You

We’re seeking someone who is:

Passionate about supporting people with a history of incarceration to rebuild their lives through employment
Skilled in case management, mentoring, and delivering pre- and post-release support
Experienced in employment or community services, with strong stakeholder engagement skills
Culturally competent, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants
Comfortable engaging with Corrections and community organisations to build strong partnerships
Able to build partnerships with employers, Corrections, and community organisations
Organised, adaptable, and focused on achieving positive outcomes and KPIs
Qualified (or willing to obtain) a Certificate IV in Employment, Career Development, or Community Services
Holding a current driver’s licence and able to travel across the Northern Territory
Committed to safe work practices, continuous improvement, and culturally safe service delivery
