JOB TITLE: RECEIVING CLERK
REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER
JOB LOCATION: SEATAC, WA
POSITION TYPE: CONTRACT (MARCH TO OCTOBER)
HOURS: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8:00am-5:00pm
SALARY: $23 HOURLY RATE; RETENTION BONUS AT END OF CONTRACT

Job Description:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, loading, and processing shipments. Working alongside other warehouse personnel and company drivers you will be sorting goods and packages that arrive in the company warehouse for storage or transfer. As well you will be required to assist on other tasks or projects as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise from trucks
- Read packing list containing item details to ensure the accurate receiving of goods
- Verify the count, sort, and completeness of all incoming shipments prior to signing the receipt of shipment according to established departmental procedures
- Identify and resolve discrepancies as goods arrive, escalating errors or concerns as necessary to appropriate personnel
- Notify appropriate staff when shipping material is needed, ensuring an adequate supply at all times
- Organize and maintain the receiving area to ensure accessibility, and the most efficient use of space
- Liaise with internal and external parties for verifications, instructions and other information to ensure smooth delivery of customer goods
- Scan and upload proof of delivery documentation as required
- Light data entry
- Problem solves to resolve incidents of short shipments by contacting suppliers and delivery services as required
- Understand process flows to interact with customers and internal teams in coordinating time-sensitive transactions
Required Skills and Experience:
- Exceptional customer service attitude as well as strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
- Good organizational, multitasking and time management skills
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 25lbs repetitively
- Familiarity with warehousing best practices
- Is a quick learner and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Able to assess stressful situations in a calm manner and make decisions based on changing information
- Ability to effectively handle time critical issues and work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Steel-toed boots
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Fun, positive and professional attitude
- Punctual and flexible with work hours based on volume of work during busy seasons
- Work experience as a warehouse worker considered an asset but not required
