POSITION: Temporary Full-Time Receptionist
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors. The successful candidate will provide courteous, efficient service while managing front desk operations, booking appointments, and supporting daily administrative tasks in a busy clinical environment. You will work in partnership with physicians, health professionals and administration in the performance of your duties and responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
Support patient check-in and clinic flow.
Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and inquires in both English and French.
Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Verify and update patient demographics and OHIP information.
Ensure confidentiality and adherence to organizational privacy policies.
Provide administrative support to healthcare providers.
Process referrals, requisitions, physician correspondence, and patient documentation.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, email, faxes and courier deliveries.
Prepare and process financial transactions for approval and payment.
Prepare patient receipts as required.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the reception and waiting area.
Maintain and order office supplies.
Complete and maintain an accurate record of inventories.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function independently with a high level of professionalism and positive workplace conduct.
Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Proficiency with a Window OS environment.
Proficiency with EMR systems, (PS Suite is preferred)
Bilingualism (English & French) required
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in roles which are commensurate with the qualifications listed above
Secretarial experience in the health care field is required.
Experience working in a Family Health Team would be an asset.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
Hours of Work – Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., on-site, 37.5-hour work week with the possibility of one evening shift (11a-7p, Wednesdays) per week
To begin as soon as possible
Pay: $46,404.98 per year with competitive health benefits, paid vacation/sick/personal leave
