About this Role
Role: Receptionist
Hours: 22.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday 1.00pm - 5.30pm (Term-time plus 2 days). This is a 1 year fixed term contract.
Reports to: Junior School Office Manager
Overview
• Front Desk Management: Greet and welcome students, parents, and visitors, ensuring all sign-in procedures are followed.
• Answering Calls: Manage incoming calls, transfer them as necessary, and take messages when required.
• Parent Communication: Respond to parental inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
• Visitor Management: Maintain a log of all visitors and ensure security procedures are followed, such as issuing visitor badges.
• Daily Attendance: Record student absences and communicate this information to relevant staff members. Send half term attendance reports to key staff
• Mail Handling: Receive and distribute mail and deliveries.
• Administrative Support: Assist with light administrative tasks, including photocopying, filing, and maintaining reception supplies.
• First Aid Support: Provide first aid or call for medical assistance when required (if trained).

Knowledge and experience
• Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and handle a busy environment with ease.
