Job Title: Recovery Mechanic
Location: North Kilworth
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per year (dependent upon licence, shifts pattern, hours and experience)
Job-Type: Full-Time
A fantastic opportunity is available for a Roadside Recovery Technician to join this well-established local automotive, breakdown and recovery business. Based from the North Kilworth area of Leicestershire, the successful Recovery Mechanic can earn a competitive salary based upon their previous experience, skills and flexibility towards working hours.
The successful Recovery Mechanic will join this hardworking and dedicating team customers who have broken down by the roadside.
The company have a variety of recovery vehicles from 3.5T Beavertails to HGV2 Transporters (with towing capabilities) so are looking for drivers who have the licence and driving experience to train to become a competent Driver.
As a Recovery Mechanic the main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Attending broken down cars and light vans by the roadside
• Diagnosing faults and completing minor repairs such as jump starts and wheel changes
• Loading and transporting broken down vehicles from the roadside to a designated drop off point
• Assisting customers in their time of need
To be considered for the role you must be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. The company requires all candidates to have recent driving experience and are especially interested speaking to candidates with at least 1 year’s commercial driving experience in a 3.5T vehicle or higher category. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:
· Full UK B category licence or above with no more than 3 points on the licence for minor endorsements and no outstanding DD, DR or CD penalty points
· Digi Tacho and DCPC (if 7.5T or above)
· Confident and personable when talking to customers
· Willing to work in all weather conditions
· Empathetic and appreciative of the stressful situation that customers can find themselves in
Benefits:
· Salary: Basic salary and OTE figures are dependent upon the category of licence held and hours worked:
3.5T / 7.5T - minimum £12.00 per hour - OTE £28,000 - £31,000 per year
HGV2 - minimum £12.50 per hour - OTE £2+,000 - £32,500 per year
Hours & Shifts: Shift patterns available: 4 on / 2 off
Will include day and night shifts and some weekend and Bank Holiday working.
Overtime: Additional overtime is available
Start: Immediate interviews and starts available
Vetting: Our client will undertake vetting including referencing up to 5 years. They may undertake a Criminal Records Check (DBS) and / or a full NPPV Level 2 Police Check. If you have any criminal convictions or cautions in the UK or abroad, you MUST declare them to us at the time of applying.
