About the Role
The EPA is reforming a new and modern regulatory framework aimed at the protection of the community, workers and the public from the harmful effects of radiation. The EPA is looking for a Radiation Reform Project Officer to work with the Radiation Project and Reform team to undertake a range of project functions which facilitate and deliver operational effectiveness, support continuous improvement and contribute to effective implementation of the radiation legislation. The Radiation Reform Project Officer is primarily responsible for project management, information management, report development, research, analysis, and advice. The role provides opportunities to learn and apply modern regulations in a risk-based regulatory approach to enable the safe uses of radiation. No prior knowledge of Radiation Science or Radiation legislation is required.

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Desirable Qualifications
Sound knowledge of radiation or environmental policies and programs, public sector organisation and operations, particularly as they relate to radiation issues and management.
Understanding of radiation protection and/or regulatory practice.
Remuneration
ASO5 ($85,790- $95,413 per annum) + 12% super added to your choice of super fund.
