ACE Community College is seeking a qualified and experienced Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Instructor to deliver training in our HVAC / Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Foundation program. The instructor will teach both theoretical and practical components of the program and prepare students for entry-level careers in the HVAC industry.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (RAMC) Foundation training.
Teach topics including refrigeration cycles, air conditioning systems, ventilation, heat pumps, electrical controls, piping, and safety practices.
Prepare and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical demonstrations.
Evaluate student progress through quizzes, assignments, and practical assessments.
Ensure safe operation of training equipment and compliance with workplace safety standards.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students entering the HVAC trade.
Required Qualifications
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (RAMC) Certification or Red Seal equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of industry experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, or HVAC systems.
Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Excellent communication and instructional skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching or training experience in trades education.
Gas Fitter (Class B or higher) or GVAC certification considered an asset.
Familiarity with SkilledTradesBC or apprenticeship training standards.
