Job Description
Major Refrigeration Ltd. was established in 2012 and employs more than 150 employees. The office is located in Grimsby, Ontario with Technicians working throughout the province. Our Technicians strive to provide our customers with the best quality service and solutions. This position is open to candidates in Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
Role and Responsibilities:
Retrofit compressors and integrate capacity controls
Upgrade existing rack oil systems
Incorporate electronic valve control
Execute gas conversions
Condenser replacements with variable speed fan control
Controls (eg. E2 and microthermal)
Proficient in supermarket rack operation and control
Operate oxy-acetylene torches for cutting, heating and brazing
Recharges or adjusts the oil or refrigerant charge of a refrigeration system to ensure proper efficiency, compressor cooling and protection against compressor slugging by measuring and adjusting the heat and sub-cooling of a system
Record information from refrigeration units such as temperatures and pressure
Reads electrical drawing where required and modifies equipment when required for better control or efficiency
Operates power and hand tools such as drills, vacuum pump, electric tube cleaner, socket wrenches, pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, and hammer
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
313A Mechanic (Refrigeration and HVAC Technician)
Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certification, required
Knowledge and experience in the operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
Must be able to work with minimum supervision
Ability to coordinate, communicate and relate well with professionals and non-professionals within and outside the organization, with strong customer skills
Ability to stand, crouch, kneel and climb ladders
Valid G driver’s Licence with a clean record
