Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to maintain and repair our refrigerated containers at our terminal in Seattle. This position requires safety sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair refrigerated container systems using specialized tools and meters as well as hand and power tools.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and calibration of units.
Braze and solder copper and brass components in the refrigeration system using oxy/acetylene torch.
Diagnose and repair high and low voltage electrical circuits using wiring diagrams and schematics.
Upload software and download information from the units' microprocessor and generate repair orders and parts inventory in fleet maintenance program.
Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, materials, and tooling with Shop Lead and Department Manager.
Learn and use manufacturer's service software with electronic equipment.
Record daily repairs in M&R maintenance software.
Utilize basic hand tools common to the trade and specifically an electrical meter, and be willing to acquire additional tooling as required.
Able to meet forklift certification requirements.
Ability and willingness to travel to Alaska twice a year as required for varied lengths of time.
Attend and maintain required training.
Requirements
EPA certified type 2 or better for CFR required, Universal EPA preferred.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
Previous experience repairing Carrier or Star Cool refrigeration units a plus.
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
