Job Description
Your key responsibilities- Provide specialised training, expertise, advice and policy input to regional government officers, including departmental officers, the Director-General and the Minister, on all aspects of cultural heritage legislation and administration.- Managing the implementation of policy and legislation, and any issues arising from the implementation of the Cultural Heritage Acts.- Liaise with other agencies in relation to legislative policy matters pertaining to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage.- Contribute to the preparation of ministerial correspondence, briefing notes and cabinet submissions relating to the development, review and/or administration of cultural heritage legislation and related policy issues.- Provide operational advice to government and non-government stakeholders including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and local government in relation to all aspects of the Cultural Heritage Acts.- Liaise with stakeholders undertaking cultural heritage studies for inclusion in the Cultural Heritage Register.- Represent the department and the Queensland Government at external forums and on inter-agency and inter-jurisdictional working parties.- Exercise delegated authority under the legislation as required.- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the department.
