We are seeking an experienced Data Administrator who is adept in managing databases, leading a team of Data Engineers, BI, and Data Integration resources. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure SQL, MS SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases, as well as expertise in data modelling and data governance.
As an Experienced Data Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing our database administration, managing a talented team of data professionals, and ensuring our data infrastructure supports our business goals. You will play a pivotal role in data strategy, governance, and execution, driving data initiatives that enhance our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and administer databases including Azure SQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, BI developers, and Data Integration specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Develop and implement data models that support business processes and analytics needs.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance.
• Oversee data integration processes and ensure seamless data flow across various systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with IT, business units, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and database optimization to meet business demands.
• Ensure disaster recovery and backup procedures are in place and tested regularly.
• Provide technical guidance and support for complex data-related projects.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies and data management practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database administration and data management.
• Proven experience managing and leading teams of data professionals.
• Expertise in Azure SQL, MS SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• In-depth understanding of data governance principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
• Certification in database management or related fields.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R.
• Understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
