About the Role
As the Regional Group Manager Delivery, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of infrastructure projects across the Te Manawa Taki Region for our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). As a senior leader you will ensure there is consistent application of IIG's policies, strategies, and standards across portfolio, programme, and project management functions.
Playing a critical role in shaping the region's infrastructure operating model and driving continuous improvement across delivery functions, you will oversee the delivery of a diverse portfolio of health infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Team/Service
The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
Serving over 1 million people, a fifth of New Zealand's population, and stretching across the middle of the North Island from the east to the west coasts, Te Manawa Taki means ‘the heartbeat'. The name reflects the geographical position of the region which includes five districts – Taranaki, Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty and Tairāwhiti. Across the five districts, IIG manages infrastructure spanning 14 sites and more than 100 buildings.
About you
You are an experienced and strategic leader with a strong background in delivering complex infrastructure programmes and managing high functioning teams. With over 10 years' experience in senior project and programme delivery roles, bringing your experience in PMO leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial delivery within large scale and complex environments, ideally in the health or public sector.
Your leadership style is inclusive and collaborative. You know how to build high performing teams, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and lead through change with clarity and purpose. You're a skilled communicator, able to build trust and alignment across internal and external stakeholders and you're passionate about ensuring infrastructure investment supports equitable health outcomes for all communities.
You will bring:
Proven success managing complex portfolios and PMO functions, including projects valued over $10 million
Strong strategic planning and operational leadership capabilities
Expertise in project governance, risk management, and financial oversight
Experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building skills
Degree in project and programme management, engineering, construction, business, or health management (or comparable experience)
Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2026
