Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Champion a safety culture through the achievement and implementation of all safety standards, systems and initiatives to a standard of excellence.
Lead and optimise the full supply chain operation from operator and trucking operations at Hermidale through to rail operations, port receival and ship loading in Newcastle.
Ensure agreed customer service levels are consistently achieved, including on-time performance and contractual KPIs across road, terminal, rail and port operations.
Develop, monitor and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and revenue maximisation.
Maximise asset utilisation and labour productivity across trucking, terminal and port operations.
Direct and manage the allocation and deployment of resources to meet operational and customer needs across the entire logistics corridor.
Provide strong frontline leadership across the employee lifecycle, including performance, engagement and capability development.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely, accurate and compliant reporting.
Drive continuous improvement opportunities and greater collaboration across operational teams and supply chain partners.
Ensure full compliance with industrial instruments, safety management systems, company procedures and legislative obligations across all supply chain activities.
About You:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with logistics, transport or heavy industrial environment, with end-to-end supply chain accountability.
Certificate IV qualification in Frontline Management or similar (preferred).
Proven frontline leadership experience across road transport, terminal operations and/or port environments.
Strong working knowledge of road haulage coordination, port interface operations and supply chain optimisation.
Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships with drivers, operators, customers, regulators and internal stakeholders.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing operational budgets, cost control and productivity improvement.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capability with a continuous improvement mindset.
Demonstrated experience in incident management, investigations and safety leadership across high-risk operating environments.
Sound computer literacy and operational systems capability (SAP experience desirable).
Thorough understanding of Supply Chain of Responsibility, National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, and port safety frameworks highly regarded.
