Full-time position based close to the beach and shops in Petone
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $115,635 to $163,250 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
As the Regional Planning Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management to Wellington Water's leak detection, water loss and drainage investigation initiatives, as well as the team of Operations Engineers who carry out technical and asset investigation activities as well as operational project delivery works. Day to day, you will work with your Team Leaders who are direct reports and Operational Engineers to proactively manage, identify and report on asset condition, water loss trends, achievements and forecasts. Furthermore, your team will support community and customer issues relating to network issues and look for resolution and remediation to those issues.
The role will see you:
oversee programmes of work to manage water loss in the networks, including development of plans, delivery of network investigations and leak detection activities
oversee delivery of drainage investigations (wastewater and stormwater) activities to support ongoing improvements to environmental water quality outcomes
oversee delivery of programme of minor works capex renewal and upgrade work across the networks by Operational Engineers, including investigations, procurements and project management activities
support team to provide Network Operations and Network Maintenance teams with technical advice and support with respect to day-to-day operational activities
lead, train and motivate the team, providing regular coaching and feedback on their performance
provide subject matter expertise on the development of effective planned maintenance programmes.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring the following:
A relevant engineering degree qualification and full driver's licence
Ten years experience in management of incidents and events within a three waters network environment
Substantial background in the development and delivery of planned maintenance activities for three waters assets
Solid working history in project, risk and contract management
Proven ability to successfully lead, develop and manage staff
Excellent communication, planning and time management skills
