Job description

Job Summary

• Monitor/administer activities in support of access controls.

• Monitor and respond to emergency/safety situations to ensure the protection of life, facility and property by maintaining an acceptable level of order, control and safety.

• Ensure the protection of CSIS property and the personal property of employees and visitors by conducting safety and security patrols.

• Respond, assist and monitor all activities related to an evacuation of the complex.

• In cooperation with team members, train and mentor new officers to the team.

• Prepare shift, incident and monthly statistical reports related to all safety and security activities.

• Conduct random security searches and report anomalies.

• Respond to internal and public telephone lines, National Service Call Center queries and maintain local call log.

Education

• College diploma (3-year program) and one (1) year of relevant experience*; or

• College diploma (2-year program) and two (2) years of relevant experience*, or

• College diploma (1-year program), or Quebec Attestation of College Studies (ACS) and three (3) years of relevant experience*, or

• High school diploma and four (4) years of relevant experience*.

The College Diploma or Attestation of College Studies must be in field of studies needed for the position. It must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

Experience

• Relevant experience is defined as:

• Experience within the last five (5) years in a protective service and security related function. This refers to a role in the protection of assets, operations and employees from various security threats.

• Experience within the last five (5) years managing various components of a security guard post, including access management and camera controls.

Assets

An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Assets can help determine right fit in certain circumstances.

• Any Professional certification in the field of security such as:

• Certified Protection Professional (CPP) o Physical Security Professional (PSP)

• Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

• Wicklander-Zulawski Certificate

• Knowledge of building and construction methods and codes  First Aid / CPR / AED training

Security Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance.
