Description
Ensures linkage between purchasing and the manufacturing facilities. Responsible for continuity of supply by serving as a communications conduit between suppliers and manufacturing.
Facilitates the supplier capacity assurance process, including providing capacity guidance to suppliers, analyzing and proposing potential solutions for capacity constraints, and facilitating allocation discussions if required.
Provides delivery/expediting support to the plant/site during major supplier issues, participating in operations and customer meetings if required.
Manages purchasing strategies aimed at minimizing risk, fostering innovation and optimizing business processes.
Builds strong supplier relationships; serves as primary contact for issue resolution with suppliers.
Fosters communication among key purchasing stakeholders across business units and functions.
Is able to lead the analysis of key trends/issues in supply for assigned products.
Identifies, plans, and implements continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
Supports new product introduction as needed.
Provides escalation point for quality issues and bridges between Supplier Quality and commercial Sourcing teams.
Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline.
Focuses on improving key plant metrics which are affected by purchasing, such as downtime due to supplier issues, supplier defects, premium freight, supplier capacity, new product metrics.
