Qualifications Required: A Graduate in any discipline, an MBA (Marketing) is preferred.
Experience Required: 10-12 years of experience in a managerial position, handling the General Trade Sales function in a large organisation in the apparel industry with a major focus on Channel sales, Whole sale or General Trade. Should have worked in a leadership position, managing a team, at the level of Zonal manager. Experience in handling sales of leggings/ women’s wear/ inner wear is preferred.
Other skills required: Should have Knowledge of MS Office. Should be able of communicate well in English, Hindi and Telugu. Should have sound knowledge of the districts of AP and Telangana.
Job Responsibility: Will head the team looking after General Trade in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and be responsible for meeting top-line of sales targets and expansion of business in the region. Major responsibilities are:
· Direct, plan, organize and oversee the Sales operations (General Trade) in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to achieve primary and secondary sales targets.
· Achieve the desired expansion of business/ growth in terms of volume/value/ market share and will appoint new distributors & modern trade outlets in the region.
· Oversees the development and execution of annual/monthly/unit sales forecast/plan & strategies in the region.
· Will lead a team of Area Managers, will drive the achievement of sales targets, ensuring targets are set & reviewed, resources are available and problems are handled. Will select, appoint and train Area Managers as business expands.
· Responsible for development of positive relationships with distributors and multi-brand outlets by ensuring excellent responsiveness and service. Deal with escalated complaints.
· Responsible for Employee relations, employee satisfaction and employee development & performance in the region.
· Works within approved budget for the region; reviews and approves expenses, cost-control reports, cost estimates.
· Ensures the dissemination and adherence to company SOPs/ guidelines, within the region, as well as government guidelines/laws.
· Oversees processes to ensure proper stock levels, merchandise mix and assortment by location/area/MBOs by monitoring reports and proper communication to allocation team.
· Conducts market research and works with Marketing to develop plans to achieve sales target, ie through effective implementation of activities/activations, events and BTL promotions/offer execution.
· Ensure company’s visual Merchandising standards are adhered to in the region in the GT stores/ MBOs.
· Liaise, coordinate and work closely with Regional Office, Head Office, Merchandising, HR, Marketing and Accounts Departments to ensure the region’s efficiency and performance.
· Ensure adequate staffing for the regions at all times, by proper manpower planning, overseeing scheduling of staff, selecting and inducting Sales personnel.
· Drives the development of effective channel sales training and product & process training. Should be able to deliver training himself/herself.
· Manage performance of team through motivating, overseeing sales incentive/bonus programs, conducting performance appraisals, managing low performers etc.
· Will be required to travel extensively within his assigned region, for distributor/Multi brand outlet visits, for supervision of Area Sales managers/TSEs, for purposes of training, audits, events, employee appraisals etc
Salary Range: Rs.10 to 12 lakhs per annum
