We are seeking to expand our teams and hire several motivated and compassionate Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary teams based in Melbourne.

In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support to individuals recovering from injury or illness, facilitating their return to work and daily activities. You will work closely with employers, healthcare providers, insurers and workers to develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans.

Key Responsibilities
Provide vocational counselling to injured workers to support return-to-work outcomes with a new employer.
Identify suitable employment options based on the worker’s skills, experience, interests, functional capacity, and recovery status.
Support workers to develop healthy work habits, job readiness, and confidence to sustain employment.
Conduct case conferences with treating health professionals, including GPs, physiotherapists, psychologists, and relevant surgeons, to gain a clear understanding of the worker’s capacity and recovery plan.
Develop and implement individualised return to work and vocational plans aligned with medical advice and labour market opportunities.
Assist workers who are unable to return to a similar role or industry by identifying retraining and upskilling pathways, aligned with transferable skills and background.
Apply motivational interviewing techniques to address barriers, enhance engagement, and support behaviour change.
Liaise with employers and stakeholders to facilitate suitable duties, placement opportunities, and sustainable return to work outcomes.
Maintain high-quality case notes and reports, ensuring compliance with legislative, insurer, and organisational requirements.
Work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to shared learning and service excellence.

What Will You Bring to the Role?
Professional membership or eligibility for membership with relevant accrediting body ASORC
A Passion for helping others!
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in using case management software and other relevant IT tools.
Full Clean Driver’s license
Experience in workplace rehabilitation is highly desirable, particularly within NES or vocational rehabilitation streams.
