Reintegration Coordinator Tai Aroha STU

We seek a committed individual to undertake the permanent part Reintegration Co-ordinator role working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Tai Aroha is an intensive specialist residential rehabilitation treatment programme for high-risk community-based offenders (residents). It offers a real opportunity for residents to make meaningful changes to their lives. Based on the principles of Therapeutic Community and Tikanga Maori practices this is a unique facility within our environment. Tai Aroha is a specialist residential rehabilitation treatment programme for high-risk community-based offenders (residents). Tai Aroha aims to provide:

A therapeutic environment for those in our care
A pro social, and culturally responsive, treatment programme
An opportunity for those in our care to acquire or improve work and social skills
Part time position 20 hours per week
Mo te tunga | About the role

The Reintegration Co-ordinator key function/purpose of the position is to provide quality reintegration services, and this includes contributing to the development of work and life skills of residents through pro-social modelling and coaching, organising and supervision of activities such as job searching securing accommodation, obtaining suitable identification including driver's license along with supporting residents to open bank account, registering with medical providers, followed by 100 day post programme support upon completion or graduation of the programme.

Have the ability to operate effectively in a Maori cultural environment demonstrating knowledge and understanding of Tikanga principles/practices as well as having a good command of te reo language.

Have the ability to establish relationships with Iwi, Hapu in order to support our residents reconnecting to these agencies.

Strong problem-solving, team building and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to model pro-social behaviour and to represent the therapeutic community in a positive manner.

Take an objective, non-judgemental approach to residents, demonstrating a degree of empathy in upholding rules and regulations A full driver's license is essential to this position and a current first aid certificate is desirable.

The starting salary is $95,080 per annum. The pay will be pro-rata as it is a part-time position.

Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
