The opportunity

This role is responsible for coordinating and governing enterprise software releases across multiple teams and environments. The focus is on release planning, implementation planning, change management, risk control, and production readiness. In this role, you will be expected to follow the Enterprise release framework, utilising established templates, processes, tools, and technologies to ensure consistency and efficiency. Depending on the scope and complexity of each project, you may be tasked with overseeing multiple releases at once. This position offers a multifaceted challenge, requiring you to supervise the entire software development lifecycle with a particular emphasis on both release and change management. By maintaining a strategic approach and adhering to best practices, you will help guide successful deployments and smooth transitions throughout each phase. Additionally, you will play a key role in enhancing capabilities, inspiring your team, and fostering a positive team culture.

Description of division and business unit

The Delivery Services team is an integral part of the Strategy, Architecture, Infrastructure, AI, and Transformation (SAI & AIT) team. We provide centralised project management, change management, cloud and automation testing, and application release management for projects across AMP.

About the role:

Manage end-to-end release and change activities, including planning, scheduling, coordination and communication across teams.
Coordinate and execute product releases from development through to deployment across non-production and production environments. Influence team planning and sequencing, environment readiness and test sign-off, stakeholder alignment and communication
Collaborate with service owners, third-party teams and IT teams (e.g., development, testing and infrastructure) to ensure changes are tested and documented.
Assess and manage the risk and impact of changes, including evaluation and approval, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
Lead post-implementation reviews to assess outcomes, identify improvements and implement corrective actions where required.
Maintain release and change documentation, including policies, procedures, runbooks and metrics.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to support successful deployments and change outcomes.
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to confirm release plans and ensure alignment.
Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, timely updates and concise status reporting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business and IT teams.
About you:

Overall IT Experience of 15 plus years and over 7 years of experience leading release and change management working across a fast-paced team environment and/ or financial service industry.
Experience managing complex release cycles, including planning, coordination, and execution of software and infrastructure changes ideally within regulated or large-scale environments.
Experience with release automation tools and methodologies.
Familiarity with IT Change Management processes and frameworks (e.g., ITIL-aligned change).
Experience in Project and/ or Change Management (desirable).
In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and experience in implementing and optimizing DevOps practices.
Strong Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow skills.
Familiar with ITIL methodologies.
Qualifications required:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/ or relevant industry experience.
