This position is part of Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) organization and falls under Cloud Services team (ECP).
Enterprise Cloud Platforms Team (ECP):
Enterprise Cloud Platforms team in the CTI organization offers Private and Public Cloud platforms for Bank of America’s developers to drive faster time-to-market, innovation with private and public cloud capabilities, and reduce complexity with built-in integrations. Job Description
Release Train Engineer, who supports & trains the Agile Release Train (ART), lead it to success & master the complexities of the software delivery in a complex cross functional workspace by empowering lean agile practices for a successful program delivery.
Responsibilities
• Enable effective communication among the scrum teams & coordinate planning of quarterly Program Increment (PIs)
• Facilitate & drives successful Program Increments (PI) on a quarterly basis
• Coach the lean agile mindset & practices to the members of Agile Release Train, Scrum Masters & business stakeholders.
• Support the scrum teams to prepare for PI Planning & ensure Objectives, roadmap & program backlogs are ready.
• Facilitates ART Sync with the scrum teams, to resolve cross functional dependencies.
• Hold a thorough understanding of Scaled Agile framework (SAFe)
• Foster open communication with the scrum teams & stakeholders to increase transparency & awareness towards progress & roadblocks
• Drive cross team collaboration in the Agile Release Train (ART) and resolve impediments & other planning, collaboration & coordination issues.
• Monitor & track ART’s progress, further track metrics such as Velocity, Cycle time & Lead time.
• Drive value delivery & continuously improve the train by effectively utilizing the metrics, by using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Assist the Agile Release Train (ART) in communication & coordination with stakeholders during the feature definition of the product and its delivery.
• Strong usage of Tools & Techniques to streamline the process to enable relentless improvement.
• Ensure the Management, Stakeholders & Product Owners are in sync with the strategy and execution.
• Encourage teamwork & assist in management of risks and dependencies.
• Manage Changes to the ART’s PI plan & survey the impacts of those changes on the value chain.
• Understand, visualize & manage upstream & downstream dependencies.
• Improve the flow of value across value streams by enhancing & evaluating Devops and Release on Demand Techniques in the continuous delivery pipeline.
• Experience executing release train engineering role, diligently applying scrum principles, practices, and theory.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable in presenting metrics with Senior Leadership.
• Good understanding of Jira, Reporting dashboards etc. & be able to drive improvement with best practices.
• Lead and facilitate program level ceremonies that support the delivery of epics & features.
• Extensive knowledge & working experience on team management, coordination of several teams & able to facilitate agreements between the parties.
• Excellent facilitation, situational awareness & conflict management skills.
Requirements
Education: B.E. / B. Tech / M.E. / M. Tech / MCA
Certifications if any: Certified Release Train Engineer (RTE) in SAFe.
Experience Range: 15 to 18 years
Foundational Skills
• Solid understanding of Agile practices, driving, mentoring & facilitation of SAFe events.
• Working experience with Agile frameworks, especially with SAFe.
• Experience in cloud projects & knowledge on Devops practices is required
• Well versed in variety of agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe & lean at a minimum)
Desired Skills
• Solid understanding of SAFe concepts & practices.
• Usage of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence & Reporting skills.
• Ensure agile release train works well together & follow SAFe processes.
Work Timings
06:30 AM - 03:30 PM and 12:30PM - 0+:30 PM with weekend support / on-call support
