Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking for a relief Cook for our Wilshaw House service in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The service provides day care for up to 28 service users a day who have a diagnosis of dementia/memory impairment.
The role of a relief cook would be to provide cover from 0+30-1400 (sometimes at short notice)
Cook duties include:
• To prepare and cook meals in line with an agreed menu plan for the day service and a varied menu in consultation with service users.
• You will have responsibility for the kitchen area, including shopping, stock control and rotation.
• To keep all kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy according to the cleaning schedules.
• To prepare food in a hygienic manner and in keeping with health and safety and food hygiene legislation.
• To be part of a team that provides a reliable service.
Wilshaw House is based in Ashton-under-Lyne. It is around 20 minutes' walk from the town centre and around 15 minutes on
the bus from the centre of Ashton-under-Lyne.
An understanding and experience of working with service users with mental health needs is desirable.
You will be required to work in a flexible relief based manner. This is a role which can be enjoyed by people who are committed to making a positive difference.
As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country and provides information on the service and shifts, including directions.
