AI Talent is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Renderer (Solid Plasterer) to join our construction and exterior finishing team. In this role, you will apply decorative and protective coatings of cement, plaster, and similar materials to the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings. Your work will play a critical role in enhancing both the durability and visual appeal of structures.
We are looking for professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality finishes, with experience in smoothing surfaces, applying render in various finishes, and working across residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities:
Mix and apply coats of cement, render, and plaster to internal and external surfaces using hand tools and trowels
Level and smooth render layers to ensure a consistent thickness and a uniform finish
Create decorative textures in finishing coats, including sponging, stippling, and trowelled effects
Repair damaged plasterwork and restore weathered or cracked external walls
Apply sealants, bonding agents, and protective coatings to increase surface durability
Straighten and plumb wall and surface corners to precise specifications
Cut and fit mesh or laths to strengthen render when required
Apply waterproofing materials and external protective layers as part of the rendering system
Maintain tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Follow all health and safety procedures on-site
Qualifications and Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Solid Plastering or equivalent qualification
At least two years of on-the-job training or three years of relevant experience may substitute formal qualification
ANZSCO Skill Level 3
Proven experience as a Renderer or Solid Plasterer, ideally with external façade work
Strong hand skills and attention to detail in surface preparation and finish
Ability to read and interpret basic plans and instructions
Familiarity with both traditional and acrylic render systems
Understanding of safety requirements and site protocols
Capable of working independently or as part of a team
Registration or licensing may be required depending on state requirements
Permanent Residents (PR) and Australian Citizens are eligible to apply
