Job description, work day and responsibilities
Role Summary:
As a Repair Technician at Flowserve, you will perform repairs and upgrades on pumps that require maintenance. The variety of our products is very large (including BBx, OHx, and high-energy pumps), so each pump has a unique or new challenge for you. Each new project starts with the disassembly, cleaning, inspection and assessment of all pump parts. You check whether they need to be repaired or replaced. As soon as all parts are available or repaired, you assemble the pump.
Requirements:
You have a technical education .
You see it as a challenge to be able to do the repairs or upgrades of pumps from start to finish.
You can interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings.
You are mechanically strong, knowledge of pumps or rotating equipment is a good fit.
You operate Operate various kinds and sized of precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, vernier.
The following terms are a good fit for you; Maintenance and repair, knowledge of material types / repair methods / machining and welding and NDT examinations, wall thickness and hardness measurements
Good command of the English language.
In your spare time you like to tinker with engines, cars or have other technical hobbies.
Responsibilities:
Upon arrival, you completely disassemble the pump, clean it and inspect it completely.
You determine whether parts are replaced or repaired
For this you use various precision measuring equipment to map the dimensions of parts and components.
You process this in a short inspection report with repair advice. You translate specific customer questions into realistic repair proposals that you discuss with your colleague. As a Repair Technician, you work together with various production departments such as Assembly, Welding & Machining, Engineering, Project Management and Planning / Work Preparation. Follow all safety procedures, and wear required personal safety equipment.
Demonstrate behavior that promotes team building and continuous improvement
Preferred Experience / Skills:
HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years relevant experience
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice.
