Context:
We are seeking a senior systems engineer to serve as our Requirements Lead, owning the development and governance of the Requirements Management Plan across a complex rail/transit infrastructure program. You will drive end‑to‑end requirements capture, allocation, traceability, and change control, ensuring alignment with the Project Agreement, applicable standards, and stakeholder needs while guiding multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
Missions/Main Duties:
As the Requirements Lead, you will
establish and maintain our requirements management framework and the associated Integration and Assurance processes. This includes defining the plan, methods, and tools that govern how requirements are captured from the Project Agreement, standards, and stakeholder inputs.
oversee structured capture and decomposition of requirements into system, subsystem, and component levels, ensuring complete allocation and bi‑directional traceability within DOORS.
Day to day, you will manage change control of requirements, administer the configuration baseline, and produce traceability and status reports that inform design reviews and support verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
A critical part of the role is coaching and supporting engineers and design teams in best practices, resolving allocation or interpretation issues, and ensuring quality and consistency of requirements artifacts throughout the lifecycle.

monitor the review of designs with delivery teams to ensure design specifications, guides, standards, and work processes are compliant to requirements and standards
contribute to the project execution plans in conjunction with the delivery team
review changes in incoming/emerging standards and corporate requirements to provide input on potential impacts to existing projects
ensure deliverables are produced according to the project schedule with high quality
support the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
build, strengthen, guide and mentor the Technical Project team
Profile/Skills:
Education: Bachelor of Engineering or comparable technical degree
Years of experience: 10+ years of experience in requirements engineering for major rail, transit, or infrastructure projects.
Technical competencies:
Familiarity with IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288, IEEE/ISO/IEC 29148, and EN 50126
Experience with IBM DOORS as a user (administrator preferred) managing multiple subsystems
Demonstrated experience establishing and executing requirements management plans covering capture, allocation, traceability, and change control.
Strong working knowledge of IBM DOORS or similar requirements management (RM) tools.
Proven ability to coordinate multiple contributors and cross‑disciplinary teams.
Senior systems engineering background with significant requirements management experience.
Formal training in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) is an asset.
