What you'll be doing
virtualKIDS is a statewide paediatric virtual healthcare program leveraging technology to transform how children and families across New South Wales access and receive care. Over the past three years, virtualKIDS has provided assessment and treatment to nearly 100,000 children, improving access, equity, and the patient experience.
Research and evaluation are central to advancing this innovative program, ensuring its models of care continue to evolve, improve, and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the research and evaluation activities of the virtualKIDS program. Working closely with the Chief Investigator and the multidisciplinary research team, the role will provide essential technical, administrative, and operational support to facilitate high-quality research outputs. This includes coordinating project activities, preparing research materials, assisting with ethics and governance documentation, data collection and management, and contributing to the analysis and reporting of research findings.
The Research Assistant will also support the day-to-day running of research projects by ensuring that activities are well organised, documentation is maintained, and timelines are met. The role will contribute to the preparation of presentations, reports, and publications, and may assist in the design of surveys or evaluation tools. Depending on project needs, the Research Assistant may also coordinate with clinicians, students, and external stakeholders to support study implementation and data quality.

Tertiary qualifications in health-related fields. Post-graduate qualification is preferred
Extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions and grant applications.
Experience in carrying out scientific literary searches and preparing literary reviews for further analysis.
Advanced skills data analysis, using statistical analysis tools, and reporting on research findings.
Experience in a research-intensive environment or interest in teaching and working in academia.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
