Job Description:
We have developed a proprietary Investment Framework – combining fundamental, technical, quantitative and behavioural analysis. The research/analytics is primarily driven towards client advisory requirements, and it could be on Indian as well global investment securities. The Research Associate works on all sectors on equity market and other asset classes.
Role and Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to study and input the company’s fundamental data from the company’s annual report or other financial reports into MA developed spreadsheet formats
o Comprehensive input and analysis of 15 years of financial data or more, if available
o Understanding the company's fundamentals and the true economic profits rather than reported earnings which can be subsequently used for valuation with reasonable certainty/conviction
o Focus on quality of earnings including accounting policy choices/changes and the impact of same on reported earnings
o Analysis of research screen in terms of number classification, ratio analysis and quality grading etc.
o Be able to highlight glaring risks vis-à-vis Quality of Earnings and questionable Corporate Governance
o Basic understanding of valuation methodology and business/industry analysis
Some other key pointers encompassing the responsibility of Research Associate (Client Servicing) are:
o Analysis of Mutual Funds in the propriety framework
o Analysis of fixed income instruments in the propriety framework
o Analysis of other investment securities (Alternatives, IPOs, Hedge Funds etc)
o Support Analysts/Investment Advisors in Client Advisory responsibilities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education Qualifications:
o CA (Must have)
o CFA (Good to have)
Required Skills:
o Knowledge of Accounting and Ratio Analysis
o Familiarity with Annual Reports/Financial Reports
o Proficiency in Excel/MS Office Suites/Database environment
Preferred Skills:
o An eye for detail and liking for numbers
o Good communication Skills (Verbal and Written) and Confidence for client interactions.
o Professional development in terms of investment related readings and understanding thought processes of leading global investors is encouraged.
o Sincerity and efficiency are required with demonstration of interest and willingness to learn
Minimum work experience Required: 0-2 years of experience
