Massey Henry is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate, Executive Search to join our team.
This role is a key part of both executive search research and business development efforts , supporting senior Partners and Principals with market intelligence, candidate identification, pitch preparation, and CRM management. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled at translating complex research into actionable insights for client-facing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Search Delivery Support
Support Massey Henry’s search delivery team in the execution of:
Candidate Research : Conduct in-depth research on target companies, industries, and executive candidates; analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and organizational structures to identify high-potential candidates through databases, professional networks, and public sources.
Reporting & Insight Development : Prepare and maintain high-quality research reports, candidate profiles, and market mapping documents; summarize insights and create briefing materials for consultant recommendations and client presentations; track and report on candidate pipelines and talent availability.
CRM & Process Coordination : Maintain and update our internal candidate database with accurate client and candidate data.
Client Development Support :
Assist in pitch preparation including slide decks and tailored market insights; conduct research to support client proposals; monitor industry news and leadership movements
Maintain and update our CRM with accurate client, prospect, and candidate data; track BD activities and follow-ups; coordinate meeting logistics and internal workflows to support principals and consultants.
The Individual
3-5+ years of experience in sales, business development and/or marketing, ideally within a professional services and/or executive search support or mid-level recruitment in a financial services focused environment.
Proven ability to generate new business and grow prospective and existing client relationships.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills , with the ability to influence and build trust with senior executives (C-suite, Board) across the sector.
Strong expertise in managing formal RFPs, overview documents, and other client-facing collateral ; highly skilled at presenting and pitching service offerings.
Strong understanding of financial services markets, including banking, regulatory, asset management, and fintech.
Experience hosting and attending industry events , with a track record of leveraging these opportunities for business development.
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution.
Proficiency in using CRM tools to track and manage activities.
Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and in-office collaboration with frequent event attendance.
Education
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred.
The expected base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000, which reflects the expected base pay – not the total compensation package. The actual base salary may vary depending on experience, skills, and alignment with the position.
