Title: : Research & Development Technician Reports To : Functionally - Technical Manager, TempRite R&D and Administratively -Technical Service Manager EMEAI Division : TempRite® R&D Location : Dahej, (Gujarat) India Summary of the Role: The R&D facility at Dahej will support our TempRite® R&D group. Objective of the role is to prepare and process materials, setup and operate equipment, as well as material and performance testing of TempRite CPVC compounds. Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Weigh-up materials and setup equipment. Process materials using compounding equipment and machines. Prepare test specimens and test samples using material property testing equipment. Prepare pipe and fitting test specimens and test samples for performance properties. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and good housekeeping practices. Actively participate in department safety programs. Organize laboratory work to meet multiple assignment objectives. Meet the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers. Conduct basic troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements): Knowledge and experience on testing methodologies and equipment for polymers and plastics Knowledge of the polymers and additives, this may include PVDF, PES, PVC, PEX, PE, PERT, HDPE, PU, TPU, PC, CPVC, HDPE, ABS and other associated polymers. Self-starter, highly motivated toward achievements, results oriented. Ability to interpret structural chemistry and apply towards product properties/applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective communicator. Strong record keeping skills. Strong PC skills including MS Office Products. Solid project management skills. Ability to work safely within Lubrizol Advanced Materials laboratories. Ability to travel as required. Education / Certification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials sciences, plastics engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related scientific field from an accredited college or university.
