$68,000•$90,000 annually (commensurate with experience) Reports to: Head of Interior Design & Ownership About the Role We are seeking a talented and technically strong Interior Designer to support hospitality and select high-end residential projects nationwide. This role is ideal for a designer who can move seamlessly from concept development to full construction documentation , producing detailed interior drawing sets while collaborating closely with leadership and consultants. You will work directly with our Head of Interior Design (NYC-based) and ownership (Los Angeles-based), supporting design-forward restaurant and commercial projects across multiple markets. Design Documentation & Drawing Production Produce and/or coordinate full interior drawing sets from concept through construction documentation Prepare:
Interior plans & reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) Finish plans & finish schedules Interior elevations & wall sections Millwork, casework & custom detail drawings Coordinate interior sets with architects and base building plans Ensure documentation is accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready Design Development & Presentation Develop interior concepts in collaboration with the Head of Interior Design Organize and present design ideas, material selections, and key decisions to ownership Translate approved design direction into buildable documentation Coordinate with lighting designers, engineers, kitchen consultants, and specialty vendors Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings Materials, Finishes & FF&E Specify interior finishes, materials, and architectural details Source and coordinate furniture, lighting, and decorative elements Maintain finish schedules, FF&E schedules, and specifications Coordinate pricing, lead times, and fabrication with vendors and fabricators Construction Support Conduct site visits and punch walks Review installations for alignment with design intent Assist in resolving field conditions and design-related challenges What We're Looking For 3-5 years of professional interior design experience Hospitality or restaurant experience strongly preferred Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (required) Experience producing complete interior drawing sets Comfortable presenting design ideas to ownership and senior stakeholders Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects Able to collaborate remotely across time zones Portfolio Requirements Please submit a portfolio that clearly demonstrates both design thinking and technical execution . Your portfolio should include:
Interior plans & reflected ceiling plans Interior elevations Millwork and custom detail drawings Finish schedules & material palettes Projects taken from concept through construction documentation Hospitality, restaurant, or commercial interiors (strongly preferred) Evidence of coordination with architects and consultants Renderings, sketches, or concept imagery (optional but welcome) Candidates should be prepared to discuss their specific role and responsibilities on each project, particularly related to documentation, consultant coordination, and presenting design ideas.
