Location: Maidstone, UK
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time (On-site 3 days per week)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual to oversee and ensure the effective operation of our residential children's services in Maidstone. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, children's legislation, and safeguarding requirements, while also providing strategic leadership to support and develop Registered Managers in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the service meets and exceeds Ofsted regulatory requirements and aligns with all relevant legislation, including the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
Provide support, coaching, and guidance to Registered Managers, ensuring they are fully equipped to lead their teams effectively.
Oversee the safeguarding and welfare of children, ensuring a child-centred approach is consistently applied.
Monitor and audit service performance, identifying areas for development and implementing continuous improvement plans.
Act as the main point of contact with Ofsted and local authorities, attending inspections, meetings, and reviews as required.
Ensure that all policies and procedures align with best practices and legal frameworks.
Work closely with senior leadership teams to drive forward the strategic vision and development of the service.Essential Requirements:
Must have previous experience working as a Responsible Individual in a residential childcare setting.
Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, children's legislation, and safeguarding policies.
Strong experience in developing and mentoring Registered Managers and staff teams.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work on-site at least three days per week and travel as required.Why Join Us?
