Summary

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A full-time RESTAURANT chef

Join our Culinary Team as a Restaurant Chef. The Restaurant Chef will play an integral role in the kitchen management team by controlling and managing the day to day running of our culinary operation. This role will assist the Executive Chef in exceeding the planned objectives for culinary concepts, is responsible for the kitchen organization, leading the brigade of the kitchen on a daily basis and maintaining costs and quality control within the kitchen department, menu creation, guest satisfaction and colleague engagement. The successful candidate will be someone who is creative and artistic with ingredients showcasing their love for cooking.

What is expected of me in this role?

§ Maintain brand and quality standards in the culinary operation, must be hands on and able to lead by example

§ Fill in where needed to ensure that the guest experience is never compromised and their expectation of food and service are met and/or exceeded

§ Frequently taste food offerings in all culinary departments to ensure quality

§ Teach, coach and support creativity among culinary team members, and mentor the next generation of culinary talent

§ Must follow strict safety and hygiene protocols and ensure that the culinary team adheres to all

§ Motivates and develops culinary colleagues through the operational, financial and administrative functions creating a multi skilled culinary team

§ Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served based on the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of the company

§ Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions

§ Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control

§ Lead and coach the team towards exceptional guest service and colleague satisfaction results

§ Act as a leader by developing and assuming key management responsibilities

§ Will be the liaison between the F&B operation operations and culinary team

§ Participate in marketing events

§ Understand and maintain all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs. Follow through with training and coaching to ensure that all policies and laws are followed

§ Assist the Executive Chef in ensuring success and profitability of our culinary operation

§ Valid work authorization for Canada

Qualification

§ Culinary education and or on the job training, independent restaurant experience is preferred

This role will typically allow a minimum of 40 hours per week.

The minimum starting salary for this role is from $65000 annually.
