Job Description
We are seeking a restaurant manager for our restaurant. The position is a full-time based role, predominantly daytime hours, and is offered a remuneration package of $80,000 plus super. Tasks and Core Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Recruiting, training, supervising, and promoting staff, including conducting performance reviews and identifying talent for upskilling.
- Overseeing the restaurant management team, providing high-level management support to the owner in overseeing the business, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures in both front and back-of-house.
- Implementing promotions and events as directed by the head office.
Day-to-Day Tasks and Core Responsibilities
- Collaborating with designers and the head office to create new dishes and plan menus.
- Managing daily front- and back-of-house restaurant operations while upholding safety and food quality standards.
- Supervising inventory and overseeing accounts payable and receivable systems, controlling operational costs, and devising strategies to minimize
waste. Developing creative solutions to address challenges.
- Leading advertising and marketing efforts, devising new campaigns to attract customers, and consistently expanding the client base.
- Engaging with customers, gathering feedback to enhance customer satisfaction, and addressing customer complaints.
- Providing excellent customer service, includes providing breakfast, lunch and dinner service, and taking orders.
- Designing new season menus with Chef and owner.
- Restaurant administration, including daily reports, banking and cash handling.
- Managing and make sure the workplace complies with health and safety
regulations.
- Assisting in marketing, promotion and advertising strategies and campaigns.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates should be eager to contribute to and lead a successful team. A positive and enthusiastic approach to customer service, goal-oriented mindset, high motivation, organisational prowess, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.
A minimum of 3 years' experience as restaurant manager is required. While experience in Japanese Cuisine is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Fluency in English is crucial due to the emphasis on Front of House duties, and proficiency in other language such as Mandarin and Japanese is considered beneficial.
