Position Description
Employment Status: Casual
Location: Beauty & the Bees Shop, Hobart + Beauty & the Bees Market Stall, Salamanca Market
Hours Per Week: As required. Approximately 15 hours per week including Saturday at Salamanca Market.
Reporting to: Business Manager

Beauty and the Bees
Beauty and the Bees is an established, highly respected, innovative Tasmanian natural hair and skincare company making products by hand from nutrient-rich Tasmanian fruits, berries, seaweed, hops, olive oil, honey and herbs, all from local apiaries, beaches, dairies, forests and farms, as well as rare ingredients like Leatherwood Honey and Beeswax found only in Tasmania. Beauty and the Bees products are sold through a dedicated retail outlet in Hobart, Salamanca Market and mail order business.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Retail Assistant is responsible for the delivery of outstanding customer service and the smooth operations of the retail outlets at both the shop and Salamanca market stall. The Retail Assistant is responsible for implementing quality control systems and ensuring that procedures are adhered to.
Key Areas of Accountability
Customer Service
Deliver high quality customer service, providing detailed product and service advice and resolve issues.
Build positive and constructive relationships with customers.
Maintain high level of knowledge of Beauty and the Bees products and values.
Point of Sale Operations
Entering sales into the point-of-sale system,
Process credit card and cash payments
Merchandising
Replenish shelves with products and displays
Review inventory
Review and improve merchandise displays improving the overall appearance.
Inventory Management
Work collaboratively with the Business Manager to ensure that shop and market stall is fully stocked
Cleaning
Shop
Vacuum and mop the floor
Regularly clean all surfaces including all product shelves
Take out trash, recycling and other waste items
Team Culture
Ensure effective and constructive communication and relationships exist with all team members.
Provide accurate and timely information as required.
Adopt a positive, solutions focused attitude to all tasks
Health and Safety
· Act in a safe manner always, including complying with all safety instructions and training given at the workplace
· Participate in, and contribute to, health and safety awareness and improvements
· Comply with emergency evacuation procedures

Person Specification
Essential knowledge or experience
· Highly developed customer service experience in a retail environment
· Experience with point-of-sale systems

Be reliable and dependable.
Treat colleagues and customers with integrity, honesty and fairness
