Retail Assistant
Job Purpose:
To provide exceptional customer service, support daily retail operations, and ensure compliance with age-restricted product sales laws in a vape shop environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide knowledgeable advice on vape products, accessories, and e-liquids.
Help customers choose products based on their preferences and needs.
Sales and Transactions:
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for purchases and returns.
Process payments via cash, EFTPOS, or other methods.
Upsell and cross-sell products to meet sales targets.
Product Knowledge:
Stay updated on new products, promotions, and industry trends.
Educate customers on how to safely use vape products.
Stock Management:
Assist with stock replenishment, inventory counts, and stock rotation.
Unpack deliveries and restock shelves in an organized manner.
Report low stock levels and damaged goods to the manager.
Store Maintenance:
Keep the store clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
Arrange product displays and promotional materials attractively.
Compliance and Safety:
Verify customer age identification in accordance with legal requirements.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure responsible retailing of vaping products.
Team Support:
Assist colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-focused with a helpful attitude.
Basic math and computer literacy.
Previous retail or vape industry experience preferred for 6 months, but not essential or level 3 or higher qualification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.50 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
Schedule:
8 hour shift
