Job Title: ICU Staff Nurse
Location: People's Hospital
Job Summary
The ICU Staff Nurse at People's Hospital will provide expert critical care to patients in our Intensive Care Unit. This role requires exceptional clinical skills to manage life-threatening conditions, make rapid clinical decisions, and deliver compassionate care in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care:
Continuously monitor and assess critically ill patients, identifying subtle condition changes
Operate and manage specialized ICU equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps
Administer IV medications, vasoactive drugs, and emergency treatments as prescribed
Perform advanced procedures: airway management, code blue response, and hemodynamic monitoring
Patient Safety & Compliance:
Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterile techniques
Document all care interventions and patient responses with 100% accuracy
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with intensivists, physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Provide compassionate communication and emotional support to patients' families
Professional Development:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs
Stay updated with latest ICU protocols and evidence-based practices
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:
B.Sc Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from accredited institution
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 3 years ICU/Critical Care experience
Technical Competencies:
Ventilator management expertise
Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
Emergency drug administration protocols
Arterial line/CVP monitoring proficiency
Critical Skills:
Ability to remain composed in emergency situations
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
Effective team leadership capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
