We are looking for a Review Services Team Leader to join our Document Review Services team based in Sydney.
The Review Services Team Leader reports to our Senior Integrated Legal Solutions Manager and is supervised daily by a Project Manager responsible for assigned matters. The role involves assisting in managing document reviews and review teams, as well as performing document review and quality assurance for eDiscovery, regulatory notice responses, cyber incident responses and transaction‑based matters. You will also be:
Managing and supervising document reviewers for Review Services matter work by giving instructions to reviewers, responding to queries, and undertaking quality checks and quality assurance of work completed.
Leading the document review process on matter by managing any issues that arise, monitoring progress of the review, providing regular status updates to the Senior Manager / Project Manager and lawyers, ensuring the document review process is completed on time and within the agreed budget, and escalating queries and implementing solutions where appropriate.
Experimenting and applying cutting edge technology to document review projects including GenAI.
Collaborating with the broader Integrated Legal Solutions (ILS) team and Allens lawyers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective results on client matters and firm national projects.
Assisting with the identification of contract lawyers for Review Services matters as needed and ensuring that candidates are a skills and cultural fit in the Allens high performance culture.
Sharing knowledge openly and effectively with other ILS team members locally and nationally to contribute to our overall commercial, legal, technical and project management market knowledge.
This is a full-time, 12-month contract opportunity. About you
You will have:
A legal qualification, with previous experience practising as a lawyer or experience in a document review team leader role.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Proven experience leading diverse teams of lawyers or paralegals on large document reviews.
Experience working on litigation matters involving eDiscovery is essential.
Legal technology experience, especially in corporate due diligence and eDiscovery platforms using Nuix, Relativity, Reveal, Canopy and similar systems is preferred.
Experience applying legal-focused GenAI tools is highly regarded.
Qualifications, or equivalent experience, in legal information management, information technology or computing science is highly desirable.
Experience balancing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.
