Description
As a Finishing Operator, you play a key role in delivering high-quality products to our customers. In this position, you will operate finishing equipment that converts large press rolls into smaller rolls based on detailed customer specifications. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and eager to learn in a manufacturing environment.
You will be trained to read job tickets, set up equipment, verify product accuracy, and inspect finished rolls for quality. Prior printing experience is not required—we are looking for individuals who take pride in doing things right, can follow instructions carefully, and are open to learning new skills and cross-training in different finishing operations.
Shift Flexibility
The ideal candidate can select either shift:
1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday- Friday
3rd shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM Monday- Friday
Training for all new hires will take place on 1st shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review job tickets and work instructions to ensure customer specifications are clearly understood.
Set up finishing equipment (blades, cores, copy position) with attention to accuracy and safety.
Operate finishing machines to produce rolls that meet required length, core size, and copy position.
Inspect rolls and materials for defects, consistency, and overall quality.
Perform splices by joining rolls of the same product, following verification and ID procedures.
Verify that Core IDs, box IDs, and product IDs match work instructions before packaging.
Pack finished rolls correctly and stage them for shipping or inventory.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about quality issues, discrepancies, or production concerns.
Accurately record production data using the ERP system.
Monitor equipment components (such as seaming mechanisms, solvent levels, and alignment) to maintain proper operation and product quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist with additional finishing or production tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience is a plus—but not required.
Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
Skills & Attributes
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to follow written instructions and procedures consistently.
Willingness to ask questions, learn new processes, and cross-train.
Proactive mindset—able to spot potential issues and communicate them promptly.
Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Mechanical aptitude (must meet minimum score on aptitude assessment).

Physical & Safety Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks.
Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
Pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in random testing.
Safety glasses and safety-toe shoes recommended in production areas.
Supervisory & Travel Requirements
No supervisory responsibilities.
