Opportunity Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join Upland India as a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer II for our RightAnswers product. The individual will be the most senior on the team. They will be working side-by-side with other talented engineers on architecture, integration, new features, and maintenance of the product. This is truly a full-stack engineering role at its core. One day you can be working on backend components building mission critical logic. The next day you can be implementing a new user experience on the frontend.

What would you do?
• Contribute to the design, architecture, and development of many aspects of the platform including new features, integrations and/or software defects.
• Lead a small project team, as required.
• Lead code reviews and actively participate in providing feedback on others' designs/code.
• Balance technical debt vs. feature development vs. supporting customers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with your code and production environments.
• Taking control of complex problems and stepping through them in a rational way.
• Making tactical vs. strategic trade-offs
• Being accountable for technical debt in your own software.
• Work on an as needed basis for executing application, security, and performance tests.
• Mentoring junior members of the team of software design and code quality.
• Jump in and help the team deliver features when it is required.
• Work with product teams to establish roadmap and timelines.

Experience

· 7-+ years

Skills to Test

· Java EE (Servlets, JSTL, JSP, JDBC)

· ReactJS and Angular (simpler)

· Some SQL queries or procedures

Primary Skills

· Java EE (Servlets, JSTL, JSP, JDBC)

· Frontend frameworks (ReactJS and/or Angular)

· Pure JavaScript, jQuery

· Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, SASS

· Microsoft SQL Server (writing queries, stored procedures, triggers etc.)

Secondary Skills (nice to have)

· Apache Solr

· Authentication and Authorization (SAML, OAuth, OpenID, Okta)

· Understanding Apache Tomcat configuration and deployment of web applications

· API Design (REST, JAX-RS)

· Understanding of browser technologies and limitations

· Understanding of Web Accessibility standards (WCAG)

· CRM Development (Salesforce, Dynamics, ServiceNow)

· Modern data and analytical patterns for use in AI and Machine Learning

· Passionate about implementing UX\UI of web applications

Soft Skills

Qualification

A bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience is required.

This role requires overlap with multiple time zones for planning meetings, status updates etc. on a regular basis. The duration of these overlaps can change depending on the type of meeting.
