12Month Max Term Opportunities (Based in Sydney or Adelaide)
Full-time Monday to Friday : Rotational shifts between 7am and 8.30pm
Hybrid model - two days a week in the office, (full-time induction & training onsite)
The Government Notices Unit (GNU) is a critical part of Westpac’s Financial Crime Surveillance function, sitting within the Risk Division.

The team is responsible for managing and responding to legal notices and information requests from law enforcement, regulators, and government agencies. Our work plays a vital role in combatting financial crime, supporting law enforcement investigations, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

What’s the role?

As a Risk Analyst in the GNU, you will be responsible for handling and assessing information requests from external agencies such as Australian Police Forces, AUSTRAC, ASIC, the ATO and Third Party Agencies.

Reviewing and responding to legal notices and requests for customer information in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Analysing transaction records, customer details, and financial activity to support investigations.
Liaising with law enforcement agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate responses.
Managing case workflows efficiently, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external obligations.
What do I need?

Experience in banking, financial services or regulatory compliance (preferred).
Exposure to financial crime investigations, risk management or law enforcement liaison (desirable).
Strong analytical and investigative capability, with the ability to interpret financial and transactional data.
Confidence managing multiple cases independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to contribute to team uplift, learning and knowledge sharing.
Genuine curiosity and a desire to continue learning about financial crime, regulatory risk and emerging threats.
