• The hiring team are responsible for building the strategic Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) platform used for internal risk management and regulatory reporting across Barclays Bank PLC. The team is focusing on a commitment within the Risk, Audits & Controls space to support the ongoing obligations to the PRA and various other internal & external regulatory agencies.
What will you be doing?
This is a challenging role to be part of a team conceptualizing, designing and delivering innovative & strategic solutions to the new-age credit risk sanctioning platform. The successful candidate will be a team member within the WCR-Risk, Audit & Control function, participating in all aspects of the delivery & change management process, which would include (but not limited to) –
• Regular interaction with Product owners, Business heads, Program leads, Development & Support teams, etc. for managing the work-demand pipeline
• Leading & driving the IFRS+/SOX audit works with internal & external stakeholders & auditors
• Represent Technology in various forums and handle senior stakeholders with confidence & prudence
• Internal Tech controls assessments & managing the related artefacts
• Oversee the Business change & continuity management process
• Identifying opportunities of automation & bringing in more controls and stability in the Tech landscape
• Understanding the larger picture & guiding the Tech teams; being a functional domain expert, assist the business, operations & tech with deep analysis
• Driving discussions to logical, actionable closure; Drafting user stories & driving issue resolutions to closure
• Should have a positive attitude in face of adversity, wade through ambiguity & have a solution oriented mindset and approach
• Should be able to juggle multiple things at a time, while being able to work in a fast-paced & demanding, high-pressure scenarios work environment
What we're looking for:
• 10+ years of relevant experience working as a Tech Project/Program Manager / Scrum Master / Delivery Manager with past experience of working as a Business Analyst preferred
• Hands-on experience with PM / SM / BA activities & involved in various stages of technical delivery & management
• Good understanding of the Banking and/or Risk Management domain, with knowledge of IFRS+, SOX, Basel, ERMF, Audit, BCM activities preferred
• PMP/PgMP/Prince2/CSM/CBAP/TOGAF/CIA/CISA/CFA/FRM certifications a plus
• Degree in engineering, computer science, business administration or a quantitative discipline e.g. statistics, physics or mathematics preferred
• Banking / Controls / Risk Management domain knowledge and experience preferred
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Ability to articulate thoughts spoken/written with teams dispersed globally
• Knowledge of banking terminologies, processes and tools, aptitude to learn new tools / apps / processes / domains
• Should have excellent conflict management skills and generate trust and gain respect in the team
• Out of the box thinker, good at articulating thoughts & ideas, with good critical reasoning and lateral thinking
• Demonstrated expertise in senior stakeholder management, dealing with ambiguities & good negotiation skills, good at conflict resolutions/management
• Hands-on experience with writing queries to retrieve data with meaningful insights & trend analysis
• Contribute towards creating delivery-related artefacts like BRDs/FRDs/RFPs/Test Plans/User stories/Project planning & tracking/building Dashboards & MI Reporting/etc.
• Monitor work and team progress on releases & deliveries, target milestones; Assist the delivery lead in operational tasks of managing a team
• Communicate with stakeholders on status and metrics
• Experience of successfully running projects through SDLC processes with large, dispersed teams
• Identify project risks and work towards mitigating them
• Escalate where appropriate to the LM / PM / Delivery Head
• Provide guidance to other team members on technology/domain/application queries
• Strong technical & functional background with detail driven and excellent problem solving abilities
• Good product building and analysis acumen
• Dynamic personality with a penchant to participate in tasks at org level like conducting trainings/social activities to promote Barclays inclusivity culture, etc.
