Role Description
Non-Financial Risk Management is looking for a dynamic professional to join our Americas Product Governance team in the Product Governance function, which is responsible for the management of the Product Lifecycle and Structured Transaction Lifecycle Frameworks to ensure appropriate due diligence takes place prior to the implementation of any new product, business initiative or non-vanilla transaction, that all products are regularly reviewed throughout their Lifecycle and that potential risks are appropriately assessed and managed.
This is a key role within the group and in this role, you will be a critical member of the team and will be exposed to senior stakeholders across all regions and businesses in the Bank; You will be responsible for several key functions, delivering projects, and presenting to senior management and oversight committees, working closely with a varied and global Deutsche Bank network. This role would be an excellent opportunity for any experienced Risk Manager and someone with governance and analytical skills who is keen to develop an in-depth understanding of how to apply these to Product Governance in a global financial institution.
The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture. Your Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President of the Americas Product Governance team, you will work with the team to ensure the Product Governance framework are robust, well understood and adhered to by the business and infrastructure functions
Provide subject matter expert input into risk-based decisions and discussions across Product Governance, including deciding whether a New Product Approval (NPA) or New Transaction Approval (NTA) is needed
Managing pipeline of product approval activity, and management /escalation of issues within the approval processes for NPAs/NTAs in the Americas region
Facilitate and coordinate with 1st and 2nd Lines partners throughout the approval processes and product lifecycle, helping to make the process efficient while maintaining a robust governance process and challenging or escalating where necessary
Managing pipeline of Americas product approval submissions and arranging relevant council meetings for timely presentation, discussion, and processing
Build strong relationships across all areas of the Bank to enable a smooth-running approval process
Your Skills and Experience:
Relevant experience in a similar role within financial services
University degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics preferred
Comprehensive understanding of the transactions and financials products offered by a Tier 1 investment bank as well as the supporting infrastructure and controls
Experience working with Senior Stakeholders within a high-pressure, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
A critical thinker with strong active listening skills with the ability to ask questions when necessary
