We’re uplifting our risk maturity and capability across BNZ over key risk areas and we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaged individual to join the tīma (team) on a 12-month fixed term as a Risk and Security Specialist.
This role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington.

We sat down with our Senior Manager, Technology Project Risk and she let us know the following about the role.
What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Develop and/or provide risk and control reporting to management for risk and/or compliance committees and leadership meetings.
Provide support in risk management activities across the team as required. This includes the day-to-day management and oversight of risk activities such as quality assurance, controls assurance, risk profile uplift, compliance management, third party assurance, process modelling and business continuity management.
Lead risk management discussions and reporting with senior business leaders, stakeholders in risk committees and/or steering committees.
Identify trends and insights in data for management reporting and provide independent risk views to senior business leaders and steering committee.
What skills and attributes will this person have in order to be successful?
5+ years of experience in the financial services sector technology and risk environment.
The ability to engage with all senior management levels within the organisation , influence and foster collaboration.
An advanced level of technical knowledge across the Technology and Information & Cyber Security functions.
Practical exposure to the full range of the operational risk toolkit, including managing the risk framework, compliance, analysis, and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities, plan work effectively and efficiently, be self-motivated and the ability to self-direct work
