Shift Details
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (36 hrs/week)
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (36 hrs/week / 24 hrs Part-Time)
The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. This position involves continuous monitoring, emergency response, and management of advanced life-support systems in a fast-paced critical care environment.
The ICU RN is responsible for ensuring patient safety, supporting families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Excellence
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Monitor vital signs and patient conditions continuously
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
Critical Care Management
• Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment (ventilators, IABP, etc.)
• Perform wound care and manage post-surgical recovery
• Conduct diagnostic tests and follow-up care
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Collaboration & Quality
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support departmental goals and patient care standards
• Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Operational Responsibilities
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Adapt to flexible scheduling and workload demands
• Remain calm and effective under high-pressure situations
Must-Have Qualifications
• ADN / BSN / MSN from an accredited nursing program
• Active RN License (Illinois)
• BLS Certification (AHA / Red Cross / Military Training Network)
• ACLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of ICU/PACU experience (preferred/required by client)
• Minimum 1 year stability in at least one hospital role
Preferred Qualifications
• ICU or Critical Care experience
• Experience with ventilators and advanced life-support equipment
• Strong emergency response skills

• Open to full-time permanent role (even if prior contract/travel experience)
